Meet the Pastors

  • Pastor Johnson met and married the former Elizabeth Beatrice Byrd of Blountstown, FL on May 20, 1987 (on his birthday) while serving his tour in Nea Makri, Greece. He is the father of three children, LaToya Shantell, Elizabeth Miller and Ra’Shawn Durell.

    Pastor Johnson ended his naval career in 1992 and moved from Chesapeake, VA to Manassas, VA. He and his family joined Mount Calvary Baptist Church in November 1992. Pastor Johnson was ordained as a deacon in May 1995 and accepted his call into the Gospel Ministry in July 1996. He received his Certificate of License in May 1997 by Mount Calvary Baptist Church under Bishop Donald L. Smith. In January 2002, Rev. Johnson was ordained by Bishop Smith as an Elder under Mount Calvary Baptist Church as well as The Whole Truth Ministries.

    Pastor Johnson has served in numerous ministries at Greater Mount Calvary Christian Church such as Associate Minister, New Disciples Teacher, Leadership Teacher, CED Core Member, and Elder of Family Ministries and as Adjutant to the Bishop for 15 years. In November 2002, Bishop Donald L. Smith appointed Elder Johnson Assistant Pastor of Greater Mount Calvary Christian Church. On August 3, 2003, he was installed as Assistant Pastor/Overseer of Greater Mount Calvary Outreach Center in Catharpin, VA. The historical site was officially re-opened on Sunday, August 10, 2003.

    On January 26, 2019, Pastor Johnson celebrated the Pastoral Installation of Restoration Community Christian Church in Manassas, VA by Dr. James Sutton of Christian Life Church in Manassas, VA as Senior Pastor, the visionary.

    Pastor Johnson graduated from Richmond Virginia Seminary with a Bachelor’s in Theological Studies and is currently pursuing his Masters in Pastoral Theological Studies at Andersonville Theological Seminary. He enjoys supporting the church and spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

    One of his favorite scriptures is found in II Corinthians 5:20,

    “Now then we are Ambassadors for Christ.”

 
 
  • Rev. Dr. Elizabeth “Liz” Johnson is native of Blountstown, Florida. She joined the U.S. Navy in 1981 and served 7 years – which included tours in Great Lakes, Illinois; Jacksonville, Florida; and finally, Nea Makri, Greece. While in Greece, she met and married Aaron Johnson on May 20, 1987 and is the proud mother of two children, LaToya and Ra’Shawn.

    Pastor Liz was licensed into the Gospel Ministry on November 9, 2008, by Pastor Johnny Byrd of Upper Room Covenant Church in Alexandria, Virginia (URCC) and later was ordained in April 2015. She also served with the URCC Outreach Ministry, who partnered with Fairfax County Social Services to feed “Families in Crisis” and donated food monthly to one of Fairfax County Alternative Schools.

    Other outreach efforts included: volunteering at Care Net Pregnancy Resource Center (Prince William County) on their 24-hour helpline for “Pregnancy Crisis” situations; serving as the Spiritual Director on the Advisory Board for Kairos International at Central Virginia Correctional Unit (CVCU) for 3 years. Pastor Liz continues to partner as a Spiritual Team Clergy/Counselor Team member for Kairos International at CVCU twice a year. She also volunteered with Good News Jail and Prison Ministry; where she provided Monthly Worship Service at the Adult Detention Center in Manassas, Virginia.

    Pastor Liz has served in various positions in past ministries (Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Virginia Beach and Greater Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Manassas) over the past 30 years such as: Deaconess Chairperson, Sunday School Superintendent, Teacher of New Members, Master Trainer for Ministers, Deacons, and Deaconess, as well as the Overseer of Benevolence.

    As a result of her passion for outreach, she founded Johnson & Johnson Outreach Ministries in November 2017 whose mission is: “To partner with organizations and ministries in the community so that our humanitarian efforts may be used as opportunities to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ to all mankind.” Under this ministry, Pastor Liz partners with Bishop Gale Williams at Entrusted Connected Ministry, where she teaches a Forgiveness Class at the Women’s Transitional House. In addition, she volunteers with Dr. Vanessa Gattis at C.H.O.W. Wagon that delivers food to families in the community. Pastor Liz is also a Board member at Christian Life Church, Manassas, VA under Pastor Steve Burke.

    In January 2019, Rev. Dr. James E. Sutton, Senior Pastor of Christian Life Church ordained and installed Pastor Liz as Pastor of Restoration Community Christian Church in Manassas, Virginia alongside her husband, Pastor Aaron L. Johnson, who is Founder and Senior Pastor. RCCC partners with Alternative Path Training School to provide monthly food donations as well as supports Abundant Power Church’s daily prayer line dedicated to intercessory prayer under Rev.

    Dr Shelia Allen.Pastor Liz received her master’s degree in Biblical Counseling in February 2019 from Andersonville Theological Seminary and her Doctorate in Pastoral Leadership in July 2021 with the Highest Distinction. She is currently employed as a HR Business Partner with Zeiders Enterprises, a government contractor in Woodbridge, VA and holds both the PHR and SHRM-CP Certifications in Human Resources.

    Pastor Liz has a passion to teach and preach the Word of God. She has been called to give “hope” to those that feel “hopeless.” Being a personal testimony for her, one of her favorite scriptures is taken from Ephesians 3:20, “Now unto Him that is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.”
